My Life Today

This page won’t mean much unless you’ve read my other pages; My Testimony and My Disease. This is mostly because I compare my life today to the life I lived with the disease.

I’d like to give you a brief synopsis.  I realize authors use the word synopsis to abbreviate everything nowadays, I’ll give you my weekly routine. I just want to show you how God has blessed me and give you an idea of how I have come through those trials and sufferings. You can absolutely say, ‘I’m an over comer!’ I didn’t do it on my own strength, but God did it. So I can’t take credit for any of it.

I work part-time (just four days a week) in my church as an administrative assistant and worship leader. I enjoy walking, reading, a little biking, cooking and writing, of course!  Those are just a few of the things that I am able to do in spite of everything that I have been through.

I have learned so much. I’m not just talking about hospital jargon, medical procedures and operations, all of which, I am very familiar with! I have learned a lot about myself and I’ve had to make a lot of changes. OK, my wife says ‘many changes.’ She’s right. I’ve had to make changes in my behavior as I learned to deal with the disease and its debilitating effects. I’ve made changes in my diet so that I can maintain the fair health I have today. I’ve had to make changes in my lifestyle so as to get a certain amount of exercise. I have developed a sincere appreciation for those in the workforce that serve others.

So, My Life Today can be summed up in this way; I am grateful for the things I’ve learned and how it has changed me. I am grateful for the people and the things that God has given me. I am grateful for the abilities I have and I will try to use those abilities to help others. I am grateful for the trials and storms God has allowed in my life and I will help others as they struggle in their trials.

I don’t let the trials and difficulties of the past dim my view of My Life Today, because My Life Today is truly blessed. I fully realize that, in spite of what takes place in my life here on earth, I know that God has a plan. I know that He is in total control of My Life Today.
